Sweet Nothings

There was a golden era in malayalam cinema...the films in that period are still a pride to malayalees.....i am not talking about just the art and award type of films....... In fact wholesome entertainers interest me more....(be it comedies, romantic films or family entertainers) Some of the hits and block busters in malayalam which deserved to be so....some of the ever green favourites which will never fade away from our minds....poochaikoru mookuthi, odarathu ammava aal ariyum, aram plus aram kinnaram, mazha peiyunnu maddhalam kottunu, chithram, vandanam, vadaku noki yenthram, nadodi kaatu, pattana pravesham, In Harihar nagar, akkare akkare akkare, manichithrathaazh, mithunam,aniyathipravu.... most of them with subtle comedies which gelled with the story of the film....i have watched these films over 5-10 times and can watch them again and again without getting bored....each time, i see them, it gives me the same feel that i had the first time!!! What is memory?? Its the ability of any organism to retain and recall information...it sounds simple........ but this mental ability sometimes leave behind a scar for the entire lifetime which cannot be healed by the best of medicines..... Only time heals it.......and our ability to forget can only save us from the pain it leaves behind..... Memories are the greatest gift god has given us...but sometimes the gift by itself becomes a curse too...."Adigam aanaal amrithum visham" holds good here!!! Memories be it good or bad can become a curse at a later point of time...What an irony!!! Another Prakash Raj film....GOD...this actor simply fascinates me....Initially i used to wonder if he is overacting but his films like mozhi, santosh subramaniam and this one did wonders to my thoughts...He is indeed one of the finest actor who shines with nothing but his sheer acting skills.... Coming back to "Abiyum Naanum"....this film came silently to theatres without much hype except for the tag that it comes from a director who gave us class films like "Azhagiya Theeye" and "Mozhi".....both my favorites!!! i was neither very excited about seeing it nor did I pester my dear husband to book tickets (which i usually do when a new film releases)... my mother-in-law saw the ad in paper and wanted to watch it...My in-laws rarely see films in theatre..in fact this was the first film, i watched with my in-laws...
